FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – 1 Year Contract 
 
Summary
 
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the management of the finance team ensuring timely delivery of accurate financial statements across multiple entities and jurisdictions for the Recruitment Process Outsourcing division of Hudson Global, Inc.
 
The Financial Controller will also be responsible for the assessment and implementation of accounting policy, including adherence to corporate governance and implementation of internal controls.
 
Responsible for day-to-day management of staff, including ongoing staff development and periodic performance appraisals.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 

  • Review of prepared periodic management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analyses and commentary
  • Review of prepared annual statutory financial statements and tax returns
  • Review of prepared periodic tax returns and responsible for company compliance
  • Advise on financial implications of transactions and impact on tax planning
  • Contribute to long term financial/tax planning at group level
  • Work proactively with the management and executive teams to make financial decisions
  • Liaise with business leaders to strengthen commercial focus and discipline across the business
  • Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and implement improvements where needed
  • Review current processes and implement process improvements/standardisations to lower cost, improve service & reduce compliance risk
  • Assist in aligning the global processes, controls and reporting formats
  • Ensure executive management is informed of all areas of risk emanating from the department and the business in general
  • Liaise with internal and external auditing teams, take lead on periodic and year end audits
  • Liaise with external tax advisors on areas requiring technical tax review
  • Ensure that the overall capacity, capability and agility of the team is appropriate to deliver business needs and requirements
  • Manage staff development including tailored professional development plans
  • Perform periodic performance appraisals of staff & provide regular feedback
  • Implement and assess corporate governance, risk management and internal controls
  • Ensure controls are robust and compliant with SOX environment

  • Strong commercial awareness, with technical knowledge of Shared Services process ownership
  • Deep understanding of financial transactions and impact to tax planning
  • Ability to present complex financial information to non-financial contacts
  • Ability to drive and influence, whilst building, maintaining and improving internal & external business relationships
  • Ability to assess risk with experience in process improvement/implementation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience in forecasting and scenario planning
  • Experience in business planning, client segmentation and business modelling
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

 
 
Requirements & Experience
 

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified
  • 5 years + relevant post qualified experience
  • 3 years + staff management experience
  • Advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of Exact system preferred
  • Technical knowledge of FRS102, USGAAP & IFRS
  • Technical knowledge of VAT & CIT
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and accounting 
  • Ability to work remotely if required
  • Ability to travel (domestic & overseas) if required
