Situation
Following a previously unsuccessful approach with another vendor, Saint-Gobain were keen to secure an RPO provider who could work in seamless collaboration with their existing in-house team, supporting permanent hiring across 20 sites in the UK and Ireland.
Journey to success
Selecting Hudson RPO as their resourcing partner in late 2017, Saint-Gobain benefited from a new blended in-house recruitment model developed by Hudson RPO. This supports all permanent hiring efforts across 20 sites in UK and Ireland.
As an extension of Saint-Gobain’s existing in-house team, four recruiters were deployed both onsite and remotely, supported by scalable sourcing assistance from the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Edinburgh.
This approach allows the internal team to focus on key HR initiatives, while Hudson RPO oversee day-to-day hiring activity and administration.
Filling approximately 100 roles a year, we recruit engineers, sales and marketing, finance, IT, and customer service. We have successfully reduced Saint-Gobain’s time-to-hire to 26 days on average, with a modest supplier usage of 9 percent.
Project expansion
Our initial solution began as bolt-on to Saint-Gobain’s current onsite team. We supported a direct sourcing model. This has since grown to a team of four recruiters taking the majority of roles across 20 Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland facilities.
We also support Saint-Gobain with assessment centres and key diversity initiatives, in order to raise employer brand awareness and act as true ambassadors of our valued client.
Behind the scenes
Throughout implementation, we identified strategies and processes to engage candidates. Technology, including the use of ClickIQ, has been key. ClickIQ is an AI-powered, programmatic job advertising platform. It automatically manages and optimises job advertising to reach the best candidates in the most cost-effective way.
