Every year, PayPoint processes more than 700 million transactions, equating to more than £10 billion per annum. They support 1,500 organisations from sectors including energy, mobile, media, transport, government, and housing.
More than 450 employees work at PayPoint’s headquarters near London.
PayPoint had an offsite RPO provider in place, but came to realise that their small HR team could be more effective with the support of an onsite partner. They sought an onsite RPO partner who could help manage recruitment outsourcing, influence daily decision making, and provide recruitment consultancy and strategy advice.
Journey to success
After a competitive bid process, PayPoint selected Hudson RPO for our proven ability to install an onsite team, and for our portfolio of value-added services beyond recruiting. Our experience in hiring field sales people within a tight time frame also proved a deciding factor.
We’ve made it easier for PayPoint to attract the right people at the right time by:
- recruiting for all permanent roles
- managing an agency for contractor roles
providing contractor payroll services - For PayPoint’s permanent roles, we oversee full-cycle recruitment, including job advertising, sourcing, screening, reference-checking and contracts.
Across the business, we’ve matched great people to roles in the call centre and the IT department. We’ve also placed a number of senior finance professionals and business developers, including 50 sales people in the UK alone.
From a compliance perspective, we support PayPoint in meeting UK gender pay gap reporting requirements.
Thanks to our partnership, PayPoint has become a widely respected organisation known for investing in its local community and supporting career development at all levels of the business.
Project expansion
We now support PayPoint with outplacement services, candidate marketing collateral, graduate hiring and work shadowing development.
And with an eye on developing future talent, we also manage the team’s apprenticeship programmes. This enables PayPoint to take advantage of government schemes.
Behind the scenes
Given that PayPoint competes for sought-after talent with well-known banking and credit card companies in central London, the recruitment team must persuade area candidates of the unique benefits of joining PayPoint. How do we do this? In short, by keeping it local. Our recruitment specialists remain active in the local community. They participate on discussion panels and build relationships with local places of education. In those circles, they conduct hiring-related presentations and facilitate workshops to strengthen brand awareness. These activities have created a warm pipeline of candidates which can be accessed for immediate requirements or with longer-term workforce planning.

PayPoint offers industry-leading payment systems for businesses and consumers in the UK, Ireland and Romania. They are the largest facilitator of in-store cash payments via the PayPoint terminal network.
