Enterprise RPO for Bayer’s Australian life science business

Situation

Bayer partnered with Hudson RPO for end-to-end recruitment outsourcing for its Australia Life Science business including all national roles in pharmaceutical, consumer, animal health, and crop sciences.

Highlights

  • Hudson RPO’s 5-member team recruits for all permanent and fixed-term sales, supply chain, clinical, medical, corporate, and crop science roles.
  • In one month, 30 open roles jumped to 60 open roles.
  • Hudson RPO leveraged its sourcing centre to flex up quickly.
  • Team also conducts an annual average of 50 pre-hire psychometric assessments for leadership and hospital sales roles. Implemented Hudson RPO’s proprietary ATS.

Journey to success

To augment the solution, Hudson RPO launched an employer brand project to update Bayer’s employee value proposition, implemented hiring manager interview training, and developed custom monthly and quarterly dashboard reports.

Hudson RPO also designed Bayer’s inaugural graduate program to hire new graduates on an 18-month rotation across four departments: sales and marketing, technical, crop science and finance. In the first round, we receive 346 applications with 8 final candidates per department.

Behind the scenes

Bayer and Hudson RPO worked to develop a change management program to transition from a decentralised agency delivery model (15+ agencies) to a centralised model. This included a national roadshow to engage Hiring Managers across the country in the new RPO model.

We also developed a strategic sourcing strategy (channels) by role type and development of talent pools, criteria, architecture, and communication.
