Hudson enabled an IT research firm’s successful expansion into new international markets
Our client is the world's leading Information Technology research and advisory company, partnering with IT leaders, telecom and professional services firms, and technology investors worldwide. They employ 3,900 associates in 75 countries with $1.3 billion in annual revenue.
CLIENT CHALLENGE
This company was ready to enter new strategic markets around the world and expand its presence in existing locations. At the time, the client’s HR team was not equipped to hire the high volume of talent required; nor was it prepared for the challenges of international recruitment as the company broadened its global footprint.
The success of the global expansion depended on high-quality new hires, an efficient recruitment process and cost reduction. Consequently, the company decided to outsource its global recruitment operations to an expert.
HUDSON SOLUTION
Upon entering into a partnership with our client, Hudson conducted an initial audit to identify areas of immediate need. We then implemented a full, global recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) program to spearhead sourcing, screening and hiring of talent.
Hudson appointed a global executive sponsor to oversee the relationship and a program director to manage each of three regions: North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. We placed recruiters on-site at our client’s locations in Stamford, Conn.; London, UK; and Sydney, Australia, and supplemented these recruiters with our worldwide Hudson network. In each region, Hudson tailored recruitment solutions for local markets, leveraging our client’s existing Applicant Tracking System.
A key benefit for the client was our ability to scale our on-site teams up and down to meet the client's changing needs over time.
THE RESULTS
During our outsourcing engagement, more than 2,000 hires were completed in a two-year period in 27 geographies across all functional areas. Average time-to-fill was 42 days in North America; 47 days in the Europe region and 51 days in the Asia Pacific region. As part of our engagement, Hudson also developed a best practice recruiting processes for key product divisions and business lines.
Working towards continual process improvement, we solicited feedback from both new hires and hiring managers after each placement. The results of these surveys were impressive: the client’s hiring managers gave Hudson an overall rating of 4.4 out of 5; candidates rated their experience with Hudson from recruiting through onboarding 4.7 out of 5.
Based on our strong relationship with the client, Hudson continued to fulfill recruiting assignments for the client on a project basis for a number of years.
Now Hudson has turned the reigns over to the client so they can maintain a high quality recruitment function without Hudson’s continuous help. We even facilitated the client hiring our entire Hudson team so they could bring their new world-class recruitment function in-house.
